Mac Studio Finish Concealer For Combination Skin

Our popular MAC Studio Finish Concealer formula is now being offered in individual Pro Palette Refill Pans. This emollient-based, lightweight, creamy formula provides discreetly opaque coverage. Offers smooth, long-wearing, invisible correction for all skin blemishes, imperfections and discolourations with a natural matte finish. I have combination skin that is severely acne prone. One primer i can vouch for is Colorbar’s perfect touch primer.i’m using it and it’s great! My favorite concealer is MAC’s studio finish as i’m yet to come across a concealer that has super pigmentation and yet dries to a matte finish w/o remaining creamy and greasy forever! This is the ultimate concealer for dark spots, sun spots, bumps/blemishes, really anything to do with unwanted pigmentation. It’s is super light weight, buildable with a sheer finish. Even though it is really lightweight it honestly gives great coverage. It doesn’t make my skin feel oily and it.

Next to foundation, concealer is just as important to me. There is no way foundation alone is going to conceal my dark circles and blemishes. For the last 6 years, I’ve stuck to one concealer. That is the MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer. But because of its glass pump packaging I’ve dropped and broken well over 7 of them. I absolutely love its fluid formula and how well it matches my skins undertone and that’s probably why I continued to repurchase. In search of a less fragile product, I recently tried out the MAC Studio Finish Concealer.

Mac studio finish concealer reviews

The MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer, comes in a pot which is probably the biggest difference from the glass Pro Longwear Concealer, I’ve loved for so long. The Studio Finish Concealer is available in 15 shades. I tried out NW 25, NC 35 and NC 42.It has a emollient formula that becomes creamy once you begin to work with the product.

NC 35 was the shade that matched the closest to my skintone. In the Pro Longwear Concealer I always wore NC 30 for its yellow undertone and brightening effects. The Studio Finish Concealer in NC 35 is perfect for concealing any dark circles or blemish scars but you can always further highlight the areas for a brightening effect.

I find that the two best ways to apply the Studio Finish Concealer are with a flat concealer brush or your fingertips. The warmth from your fingertips helps to warm up the product, allowing it to apply smoothly. Whereas using a concealer brush prevents product from getting into your nails, it’s all about preference.Simply pat the product in and gently blend away the edges to ensure that you get full coverage. Dragging the product, reveals everything you have concealed. So when you’re setting the concealer, use a stippling brush to prevent the product from moving.

Skin

Setting the concealer with a translucent powder is a must because otherwise it will crease almost immediately. The Studio Finish Concealer wears for well over 13+ hours.

Hey Gurls,

Today I am gonna talk about one of my first MAC concealer, Mac Studio finish Concealer! It was during those days (each month) when you actually need something to hide your blemishes. NO, I don’t have dark circles but PMS and lack of proper sleep can make you look like a zombie. I generally don’t use any sort of concealers but some days my skin looks a little tired and sometimes I get rashes too. I brought this concealer as it gives full coverage.

Let’s see what MAC says:

A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin’s imperfections and discolourations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains silica to help absorb the skin’s oils. Concealer has broad spectrum SPF 35 protection and is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a medium to firm fiber brush (try the 242 Shader Brush), a latex sponge, or the fingertips.

Price: 1200 INR at the time I bought it. (Price may have increased now) OR US$18.00.

Net weight: 7 g / 0.24 US oz .

My Experience With MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 – Shade- NC42

I find MAC Studio Finish Concealer to be very versatile. It is meant for dry skin but oily-combination skin can use this too. It is a cream concealer, with spf 35 (Photographs well, nice for flash photography.)and is Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic which is quite appropriate for oily-combination skin types. Also, it contains silica which provides oil controlling effect!

Mac’s Studio finish Concealer gives full coverage foundation and is also quite light on skin. Although too much of it can look cakey.

I found that MAC Studio finish concealer is loved by many makeup artists.

Concealers are meant to hide blemishes, dark circles, spots, discolorations etc. We often tend to use same concealer shade for every area which can look ashy or even accentuate the flaws.

MAC MUA matched me to NC30-35 for face concealing and NC 42 for under eye area. I opted for NC 42 and happily came back home. I tried couple of times to test it in different ways but everytime it looked little yellowish on me. But that’s ok I know how to fix it. I tried working on my face to see how it looks; yes it hides any redness around my nose but again it leaves the area a little ‘Yellowish’. Dusting some translucent powder helped a bit.

It gives an opaque coverage on first application. I use my Kryolan brush to apply and then blend out the edges with my fingertips. Setting your base (i.e foundation and concealer) with powder is very important to increase its longetivity. MAC Studio Finish Concealer gives me 6-7 hours of weartime in humid weather too. It is quite moisturizing which sets as semi-matte finish but keeps up the hydration level for very long time.

Mac Studio Finish Concealer Dupe

INFO ON A SILVER PLATTERYes, I do recommend Studio Finish concealer to everyone. Those who want light/medium to full coverage, this is it!!! It can be used on both face and body. The only suggestion is, MAC has vast shade range and you must match it properly to your skin shade before splurging. 7gm is way too much to finish! 🙂
