MAC Studio fix foundation has been in the Indian markets since a lot of years now. I have been putting on makeup since almost 7 to 8 years, on and off though. My love for blogging has made me try lots of makeup products, including plenty of foundations but this one, by far has been the best foundation I have ever tried. Appearance & Packaging: This foundation comes in a Black colored cardboard carton, just like all other MAC products.
Inside the carton, there is the bottle of liquid foundation. It is made up of thick glass and I would not call it very handy to carry around. Though, it is totally spill proof.
Mac Cosmetics
The bottle has a basic black colored cap which needs to be screwed tight to close. There is no pump or dispenser as such.So, packaging wise, I do not give this one full marks.
To dispense the product, you need to tilt the bottle and pour out the required quantity of foundation.
Consistency and Formula: It is not runny and is not thick either.It sits where it is poured but is easy to pick up with fingertips or foundation brush. It spreads easily on my skin after cleansing, toning and moisturizing.

Beneath foundations, it is always recommended to apply a primer. But very surprisingly, this foundation does quite well without the primer, in terms of staying power and blending.
Coverage & Finish: This gives the most lightweight finish. The coverage is decent say moderate without a concealer and heavy coverage with a concealer.It feels light like makeup done with an airbrush.
This foundation creates an even looking complexion while satisfactorily covering up blemishes and dark spots.The finish is matte, which is good for girls with oily and combination skin types.
Longevity: It stays as it is for at least 6 to 7 hours. You might need a compact powder touch up every 3 hours or so after gently dabbing with a blotting paper.
Camera Friendliness: This foundation looks simply amazing in pictures. It does not look patchy or uneven. There is no evidence of creases or caked up appearance.
These properties make the MAC Studio fix foundation, the perfect foundation for party wear.
My Experience & How To Use?
As mentioned before, MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation liquid shade NW25 foundation is literally the best out of lots of foundations from different brands which I have used so far.
I do not recommend it for daily use as it gives a heavy coverage. However, for special occasions and parties, go for this one with closed eyes. The makeup artist at the MAC store would help you choose one that matches your skin tone perfectly.
To summarize it’s properties, it gives a good coverage, is easy to use and stays on nicely even without a primer and a compact.To enhance it’s stay up to 8 to 10 hours, use a primer beneath and set with a powder, preferably from the same brand.
I use it after cleansing, toning and moisturizing.I rarely use a primer. I apply multiple dots of this foundation covering all the parts of my face and blend using my fingertips.I tap it into my skin to create an even coverage. Finally, I use a fluffy brush to set the foundation by dusting it with compact powder.Lastly, I apply other makeup products and I am ready to go!

Overall Summary: To sum it up, MAC Studio Fix foundation comes with a long lasting, liquid formula that gives moderate to heavy coverage with an airbrush finish.
It is not transfer proof, though it would not get disturbed unless rubbed into. Gently dab to absorb sebum and puff with a compact for touchup
It is waterproof to a satisfactory extent.
Do I Recommend?
I’d recommend this to anyone who would not mind spending extra bucks for a good quality foundation.
It gives great coverage and stays on for 6 to 7 hours straight with an intermittent touchup.
Will I Repurchase?
This will last for now!

- Controls oil on my (oily) face. Need to properly moisturise the face prior to application, or it makes the skin feel stretchy (Probably it is too good at oil-control…haha)
- Provides medium coverage. Can be worn during the day also, without looking cakey or heavy. Coverage can be built up as per the need!
- No need to wear concealer for small marks on the face (may be needed for heavy dark circles, though)
- Looks fresh for 5-6 hours easily.
- Sweat and water proof.
- Spreads easily (though it dries very quickly, so you will need to work fast with it.)
- Has SPF
- Never broke me out.
- perfect shade match!!
- Additional pump may be needed, although I have not bought it, and I have no problems till now.
- Available only at MAC stores.
- Price. It is a tad too expensive for a foundation.
